Description
Gymnema leaf (Gymnema sylvestre) is a climbing plant of India with an unusual property: chewing the leaf temporarily dulls the ability to taste sweetness, which earned it the Hindi name gurmar. In Ayurvedic tradition it has traditionally been used to support balanced blood sugar already within the normal range, healthy metabolism, and freedom from sugar cravings as part of a considered diet. Infuse the leaf as a tea; the flavour is green and mildly bitter. Traditional uses reflect historical practice and are not proven clinical effects. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
