Description
Marshmallow leaf (Althaea officinalis) comes from the same velvet-leaved plant as marshmallow root, and shares its soothing, mucilage-rich character in a lighter form. Herbalists have traditionally used the leaf to support a soothed throat, comfortable digestion, and urinary tract comfort. It makes a soft, mild infusion; a long steep, or an overnight cold infusion, draws out its most soothing qualities. Blend with peppermint or linden for flavour. Traditional uses reflect historical practice and are not proven clinical effects. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
